During the month of November we will be focussing on the virtue of RESPONSIBILITY.
The scripture passages that guide us this month are, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31.
Give me a sense of responsibility.
Give me a sense of responsibility to myself,
So that I may never waste the gifts which you have given to me;
A sense of responsibility to my parents,
So that I may do something to try to repay them for all the love and care they have given to me;
A sense of responsibility to my teachers,
So that all their patient teaching of me may not go for nothing;
A sense of responsibility to my friends,
So that I may never disappoint them;
A sense of responsibility to those who have gone before me,
So that I may never forget what my freedom cost;
A sense of responsibility to the world,
So that I may put into life more than I take out;
A sense of responsibility to You,
So that I may always remember that You loved me and gave yourself for me.
Help me remember what I have received,
And to use what I have and so to make what I ought to out of this life of mine,
Which cost so much.
This I ask for your love’s sake, Amen.
St. Peter & St. Paul's School is a dynamic school community located in Durham. We are a small school celebrating differences while embracing our unity in the Catholic Faith. We strive to build relationships and respect with high educational expectations, as our students move through to high school and beyond.
We have been experiencing numerous changes in the past year with staffing and students, but especially with the beautiful new addition to our building. We are in the midst of planning an official opening of the new section which will contain two new classrooms, computer lab, music room, library and an expanded gym with stage area.
Our school's staff all take responsibility for each and every child, building on their strengths. We set high standards for ongoing growth and accountability in spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical development.
We encourage a close working relationship with our parents, and parish and community partners through our social justice projects and open communication. St. Peter & St. Paul's welcomes all while following the path of Jesus.
